"Granny Lambie"

It started with one women, Nancy Thompson, and her five grandchildren. Every Wednesday after getting her hair fixed at the salon in Germantown she would step next store to check out the latest fashions for her grandchildren. As the last grandchild arrived Ms. Arden had moved just across the way. Nancy even worked for Little Lambs for a short time. Just one day a week. I know it was to see the new fashions and to scoop them up for the kids. Little Lambs has dressed all 5 through Halloween costumes, birthday outfits, bathing suits, every color pattern for their feet and Sunday best. I remember one Halloween she had a cute cowboy outfit for my son and she was so kind to find the matching material and had an outfit made for my daughter so my son and daughter could match. My favorites were the holiday shirts. All 5 were decked out for every holiday. As Little Lambs leaves this year we also had Nancy, or Granny as the children called her, pass away. She is missed greatly by her Grandchildren. My fondest memory that will stay with me always is about a large Lamb purchased at the store. My daughter started collecting lambs from the first one she got from Little Lambs at the hospital. In the search for a new and better lamb and to satisfy my daughter’s love of lambs my mother bought this oversized lamb. At the time it was larger than my daughter. She hid it away for Christmas. When Christmas got here, the lamb was no where to be found. Granny didn't remember what she did with it. We searched the store and at home. Several months later when leaving for a trip my parents found the lamb in a suitcase. Great hiding place! My daughter has the lamb on her bed now even at the age of 15. We affectingly call it Granny Lambie. Thanks Arden for all your kindness over the years. The kids enjoyed their visits and always getting a lamb sticker because they had been good on our visits. I had to send a picture of my two children Robert and Lindsay in their Little Lambs shirts. Time has passed so quickly. Best of luck and you will always be in our thoughts.
